Mission Statement
The TEXAS MOTORCYCLE ROADRIDERS ASSOCIATION (TMRA) was founded in the early 1970’s. TMRA is an Association of Clubs and Individuals whose purpose is to promote and better the image of motorcycling and promote fellowship for motorcycle enthusiasts. For over 40 years we have stood for rights, education, fellowship and communication for Texas riders. Membership in TMRA presents many benefits, our monthly magazine, the Daimler’s folly, the Good Samaritan program, and the supporting merchant program. Additionally, all members are entitled to receive a term life insurance policy of $3,500.00 free of charge. Chartered clubs can list their events in the calendar, and promote them in the Daimler’s folly. There are six geographical areas, each represented by an Area Vice President to ensure that the concerns of all area members are brought to the Board of Directors. The six Area Vice Presidents help make up the Board of Directors along with state level officers; President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Referee.
•DAIMLER'S FOLLY The Daimler’s folly is TMRA's official monthly publication and a great source of information about what is happening around the state of Texas. Chartered clubs may list their events on the association calendar. There are articles on safety, legislative matters that affect the motorcycling community and other interesting articles all submitted by TMRA members.
•INSURANCE Members of TMRA are offered a $3,500 accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy at no cost. Additional coverage is available. Some insurance companies may offer TMRA members a discount on motorcycle insurance.
•SAFETY In 1975, TMRA had responsibility for providing instructors and instruction on motorcycle safety. Today, the Texas department of public safety motorcycle safety unit oversees instruction programs. Safety is still a large concern for TMRA and we encourage every rider to take a safety course. Most motorcycle manufacturers and national organizations like the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA), and the motorcycle safety foundation, participate in these programs.
•LEGISLATION Since its beginning, TMRA has worked with the governor of Texas and the legislature on matters concerning all phases of motorcycling. Today TMRA continues this effort in cooperation with other motorcycle related organizations to promote safety, awareness and protect our right to ride.
